Now that the holidays are over its time to sit down and share with you all the things I couldn't share since they were gifts!
I loved making each of these so much that some of them I made multiples of them! So I will start this blog with the gift that I made for my sister.
When she asked for a pair of socks I put it off for months, because I was terrified since I've never knitted socks before.
I had found many simple sock patterns but I'd end up frogging them after a few inches of knitting.
So I spent hours on Ravelry searching for one that was basic enough that I wouldn't be bored while learning something new and not so complicated that I give up. I found a basic sock pattern by Pattons and then I picked up some sock yarn. I was surprised with how easy it was!
The yarn I used was the Paton Kroy Sock that was self striping. It definitely had that 'wool' feel to them so you could tell they were going to be warm.
What I loved most about this project was that I got to try on the socks as I went. My sister and I have similar sized feet so it was super fun to feel how they were turning out and it wasn't a guessing game!
I liked it so much that after I finished and gifted these to her I picked up some squishy soft sock yarn from Knit Picks and started another pair for myself!
